Without an update for two weeks a lot has been missed. The last three games of the season and the
play-offs. So the whole end of the season! If you don't know by now, the Demons took home the
first ever TFL championship. With only one loss all season the Demons rode right through the
play-offs. Every game in the plays offs was won 10-7 oddly enough. But I bet you're wondering
who played who and who beat who, so hear goes...
The first game was the two and three seeds (Slayers vs. Predators). The Predators started off with
the ball and quickly scored two touchdowns. One on their first drive and the next on an interception
by Hull taken back for a touchdown. The Predators never had less than one point above the Slayers
the rest of the game, taking them to the championship.
The second game was the first and last seed (Demons vs. The Hit Squad). Was anyone expecting
the 0-6 team to do anything? Well starting off 2-0 and at remaining two points ahead until it was
4-3, the Hit Squad was looking sharp. But the Demons slowly ate away at the Hit Squad and
surpassed them letting them only score three more points the rest of the game. This unfortunately
closed out the Hit Squad's season not winning a single game.
In the final game of the season, the first ever TFL Chapionship-- The Torkham Bowl; the Demons
faced the Predators. In what started out as a decent, normal game, quickly turned ugly when the
competitiveness of the players came out. The score battled back and forth through the first half,
each team answering each other with another point. But once the first penalty marker was thrown
against the Predators, they hit a rut. Receiving three more penalties before the game ended, the
Predators only scored one more touchdown for their final tally to end a seven. Illegal contact,
arguing with officials and un-sportsmen like conduct were among the penalties given by the
officiating crew. If penalties themselves didn't set back the Predators, they sure got into their heads.
The Demons masterfully placed the ball to different receivers throughout the whole game and
Peterka still managed to come up with a few touchdowns for himself. The strong defense we'd seen
all year from the Predators showed sign of struggle. There were no interceptions and few passes
were knocked down. The Demons score all ten of their points in just over an hour of play time. At
the same time, the Predators offence scored their least amount of points that they have all season--
seven.
So in just over a months time the first ever TFL season became a smash. The Demons only lost one
game all season and came out and proved what they were all about in the play-offs. There will be an
awards ceremony later in the month for the entire league and a second season is still in the midst of
being worked out. A draft is supposed to take place on the first of the year at 8:00pm.
